Happy gorgeous weather week, friends,
I wasn't sure today's newsletter would reach you - our internet gods had other plans for a moment there (all three of them, lol). Glad this reaches you on Jun 3.
This weekend I was in Toronto for a concert, and for the first time ever, four major artists were performing at different venues at the exact same time. Beautiful, musical chaos. 😅
June is both National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month. Two communities that have shaped so much of what makes this region and this country. You'll see both woven through this week's events, and this is our chance to show up.
Now soak in that sun a little extra every day. Happy week ahead, riding our region's rhythm.
with love,
your friendly neighbourhood goose 🦆

JUNE DINNER CLUB
Good things come in twos. May's Dinner Club went so well that June gets not one but two - because one day of good people clearly wasn't enough.
If you're new here, here's how it works:
✦︎ Take a quick quiz about your interests, food preferences, and the kinds of people you'd love to share a table with.
✦︎ Get matched with a few other Waterloo Region Rhythm community members based on your answers.
✦︎ Receive your invite the morning of the dinner - restaurant details included, no guessing required.
✦︎ Show up, eat well, meet people. Then follow everyone to a secret after-party spot, revealed at the table.

May was our first time in Kitchener, and it was genuinely wonderful. So we're going back for round two. Here is a little snapshot from May Dinner Club❣
Ready? Stretch those fingers and take the quiz.

And yes, the first-ever Waterloo Region Rhythm Couples-only Dinner is happening Friday, June 19 in Cambridge.
Cambridge in June, by the water, surrounded by beautiful architecture? That's basically a date night handing itself to you on a platter. We're leaning in. 😄
Great mood plus new city equals the perfect time to make new friends - even better when you do it as a couple.
One important thing: when you sign up, click the Bring +1 button on the right side of the checkout screen. The default is a single seat - skip that step and the matching won't work the way it's supposed to. One click. Don't forget it.

RIFFS & RIBS
This week, a singer is sound-checking. A duo is tuning up. A whole band is loading in through the back door of kitchens kind enough to host them. Click image for the full week’s breakdown of live music performances at eateries.

CONTRIBUTE TO THE RHYTHM
All your support goes directly towards keeping Waterloo Region Rhythm alive and well. WRR will always be 100% free to read while being independently and locally written by someone with a goose mindset and who loves the region. Many thanks to you all - Pav

RIDDLE ME
Our region sits on the Haldimand Tract - 950,000 acres granted to the Six Nations in 1784. How much remains in Six Nations hands today?
Mostly everyone got last week’s answer right. Agree Chris Hadfield might have done all of those. Did you go to his talk?
AT HOME IN THE REGION
From Cheryl Goetz, Real Estate Agent, REAL Broker Ontario Ltd.
What I look at while showing houses to buyers, before I even walk in the door.
When most people think of a showing, they think the focus is on interior finishes, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the age/condition of everything. While all of those are important, there are numerous things my clients don't realize I am asking myself before I walk in.
Here are just a few examples of what to consider beyond the obvious…

ROAM & RAZZLE
Because there is so much to explore every-single-day.
IMPACT is built for women business owners - a panel of industry leaders followed by networking. The June edition zeroes in on mindset, with panelists Marsha Vanwynsberghe, Andrea Mondoux, Megan Schnarr unpacking what it actually takes to lead through doubt, growth, and the messy in-between. Attendees are asked to bring an item that supports local families through Mamas for Mamas and Marillac Place.
Got an event coming up? Submit it and it could show up right here.
