My Waterloo Region summer list
I'm a Waterloo Region real estate agent, mom to 2 girls and a dog, and proud local. Over the past 10+ years, I've helped 100+ families feel home here, and have grown even more fond of our city along the way. This guide is my way of sharing my favourite local spots and businesses with you this summer.
A few things I love about summer in Waterloo Region: patio hopping with friends, walks along Laurel Creek Trail, and FourAll ice cream on a hot day.

Things to do
Pick up fresh pastries from Roux Bakehouse
Details: 667 Belmont Ave W, in Belmont Village. Doors open at 8am every day, to 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends. Bakery, cafe and coffee roaster in one.You-Pick strawberries at Herrle's Country Farm
Details: the 2026 you-pick strawberry season ran about three weeks in June and is finished, so put this one in the calendar for next year. Their own sweet corn is coming off the fields now.Pack a picnic for Victoria Park
Walk the Grand River Trail
Buy local at the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market
Details: Thursday 8am to 3pm and Saturday 7am to 3:30pm all year. The extra summer Tuesday market, 8am to 3pm, runs until September 1.Try a summer brew from Counterpoint Brewing
Details: Kitchener taproom with a patio. Later in the week only, so check their hours before you drive over.Museum day at THEMUSEUM
Details: downtown Kitchener, open 10am to 4pm. KALEIDOSCOPE, Impossible Geometries and THEPLAYGROUND are all running now.Volunteer at a community garden
Details: the City of Waterloo supports eight gardens in city parks and takes volunteers at [email protected]. Kitchener has more than forty. The season runs to October, so there is still time.

Coffee. Camelia's Bakehouse. Holly's Neighbourhood Cafe. Seven Shores. JTM Cake Studio & Cafe.
Drinks. Willibald. Lala Social House. The Civil. The Canadian Brewhouse.
Restaurants. Public Kitchen & Bar. Solé Uptown. The Boathouse. The Foundry.
Details: The Boathouse DTK is in downtown Kitchener and has a patio.
Sweets. Ayres Baking Supplies. The Sconery. Vincenzo's. St. Jacobs Farmers' Market.
And FourAll ice cream on a hot day, which is one of my favourite things about summer here.
