Summer Getaway List: Worth the Drive
This guide is my way of sharing my favourite local spots and businesses with you this summer. Part one is the ones you drive to.
Guelph Lake Conservation Area, about 30 minutes. 1,600 acres with two beaches.
Puddicombe Estate, about an hour. Wine tasting. Details: 1468 Highway 8, Winona. Winery and cidery with tastings, pick-your-own fruit, wood-fired pizza, and estate tours by train. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

Grand Bend Beach, about 1.5 hours. Southern Ontario's most beloved beach destination.
Port Stanley Beach, about 1.5 hours. A hidden gem on Lake Erie.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 1.5 hours. A proper long weekend destination.
Collingwood, about 2 hours. Perfect for a weekend with or without the kiddos.
Kimberley, about 2 hours. A little village at the heart of many good things. My favourite spot.
