THE CLINIC THAT WILL TELL YOU TO WAIT
with Elev8 Aesthetic Medicine
Most places say yes, Elev8 Aesthetic Medicine will sometimes tell you NOT YET.
Sometimes they will send you to their naturopath before they will book you a treatment. Your skin keeps score of how you sleep and eat, and they would rather start there.
That is what happens when nurses run the clinic.
The founder has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and still teaches nursing students at Conestoga College. One of her injectors came up through the ER. Naturopaths and chiropractors work under the same roof.
More than 40 years of combined nursing experience, in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and Paris.
THE FESTIVAL THAT HELPED BUILD WELLESLEY
If you've ever wondered why Wellesley has an entire festival devoted to apple butter and cheese, the name is only the beginning of the story.
About 50 years ago, members of the Wellesley Board of Trade wanted to bring people into the village. Inspired by the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival and New Hamburg Quilt Auction, they looked at what Wellesley had of its own: Wellesley Brand apple products and a J.M. Schneider cheese factory.
Apple butter + cheese. Festival named.
But here's the part I love.
The festival became a way for Wellesley to invest in itself.
Its first edition raised about $5,000 toward artificial ice for the new arena. Over the years, festival proceeds have helped support parkland, sports fields, fire equipment, community spaces, downtown improvements and more.
And it is still powered entirely by volunteers. Today, the festival can bring 30,000+ people into Wellesley for one Saturday of pancakes, fritters, tractors, farm tours, music and, naturally, cheese.
So yes, go for the food this Saturday. But while you're there, look around.
Some of what makes Wellesley Wellesley was helped along by nearly 50 years of neighbours showing up, feeding thousands of strangers and putting the money right back into home.

Kitchener's new Cowan Recreation Centre opens November 14 at RBJ Schlegel Park, the largest capital project in the city's history, with a quad gym, a FIFA-sized indoor turf field, two cricket nets, competition and leisure pools and an indoor walking track.
Kitchener was picked for Google Jigsaw's Partners Program alongside Houston, Gdansk and a handful of other cities, and will use AI Sensemaking to turn thousands of resident comments into its 2027-2030 strategic plan. More than 1,500 people have already weighed in at engagewr.
